Evesham.com offers automatic support

PC builder develops downloadable Fixlet solution for problem PCs.

Written by Computeractive staff, Computeract!ve

Evesham.com says it is the first UK PC builder to adopt a pre-emptive approach to technical support. Its Fixlet solution was developed by BigFix and Evesham hopes to use it to reduce telephone technical support calls by between 15 and 20 per cent.

When an Evesham PC owner reports problems caused by bugs, outdated software or security holes, Evesham will alert all of its customers to a short program that will solve the problem. At the click of a button you can activate the so-called Fixlet and it will download to your PC.

Nanci Herring, vice president at BigFix, said: "This is a great tool for consumers." Richard Austin, managing director of Evesham.com, added: "We are constantly looking for ways we can improve our service to the customer."
