Wireless networks are great for surfing the net, accessing data and using printers without pesky cables. It's not just desktop and notebook PCs that can benefit either. Handheld computers are also quite capable, with the right hardware.
The AmbiCom Wireless Compact Flash card fits in the Compact Flash slot of a handheld computer running Pocket PC, giving instant access to wireless networks using the 11 Mbit/s 802.11b standard (a list of compatible PocketPCs is available on AmbiCom's website). An aerial protrudes from the top with a small activity-indicator light.
Installing the software is simple but depending on whether the configuration utility automatically picks up an available wireless network, you may need to manually tinker with the Wi-Fi settings.
