I was initially on a 1Mbit/sec service with BT Yahoo, however as part of the BT speed upgrade program this was boosted to 2Mbits/sec. Despite being a fair distance from my exchange, I am regularly achieving speeds of around 1.8Mbits/sec.

There's a decent 40GB monthly usage cap, but this does push up the monthly fee to £30. This makes it a competitive option, although it is quite as good as the package offered by some other rivals on test, such as Bulldog.

I only experienced a connection problem once, but this turned out to be the result of a neighbour installing a wireless router on the same channel as mine and not a problem with BT Yahoo itself.

Various services, such as email and web space, are offered but I prefer to use my own Pop3 email service so I’m not tied to an ISP - there’s nothing more frustrating than having to tell everyone your email address has changed when you switch ISP.

BT offers a reliable and fairly priced service and installation was hassle free. I would definitely recommend it to others. I will be moving house soon and will be interested to see how smoothly BT handle the transfer - keep and eye on http://www.pcw.co.uk/labs for an update.
