AOL Instant Messenger 6.8.12.4

Instant messaging has become one of the most popular uses of the internet and AOL Instant Messenger has an impressive pedigree.

This latest version has a new look that is more descreet than the previous version, though ads are still shown at the top of the window.

The message window has tabs for changing to audio and video chat from text as well as tabs for transfering files and pictures.

This download is a small program that will download and install the AIM software.

If you use several instant messaging programs you may also want to try GAIM and Trillian.

Profiles from older versions of AIM up to 5.5 are no longer available from within new AIM. To create a new profile, visit the new Member Directory, where you can also search for users and profiles.
