Webex has announced a new plug-in tool for Yahoo! Messenger that will enable instant messaging (IM) users to “co-browse” and view a website together via the IM interface.

It provides users with the ability to simultaneously view and collaborate on web searches such as online shopping, party planning and picture viewing.

The Webex co-browsing plug-in, which can be downloaded from the Plug-in Picker in Yahoo! Messenger or for free from the Webex website, allows users to email or IM web links back and forth.

The tool also gives users the chance to expand Yahoo Messenger’s selection of conversation plug-ins.
