Researching a family tree is very exciting but keeping track of all the information can be difficult. Rootsmagic takes the strain for you, organising individuals and all their information.

Each individual has there own record in the program charting the important dates and information about their life. As information is entered, Rootsmagic checks it to make sure that individuals are not duplicated. In addition to simple facts and figures photographs, sound clips, videos and other documents can be added to records.

Once the family tree is complete there are plenty of ways of sharing it with other people. It can be copied to a CD with a special version of Rootsmagic to view it with. Printing the information with the tree is possible and can include all of the pages one would expect such as dedications, acknowledgements and prefaces. The finished document can be saved as a Pdf or in RTF for editing in a word processor. Some information can be marked as private so it is not included in public reports.

Rootsmagic can also create wall charts for displaying large numbers of individuals. Rootsmagic claims that they can be up to 57ft wide.

Full GEDCOM 5.5 support means Rootsmagic is compatible with other software if information needs to be imported.

Rootsmagic is available on CD or as a download only purchase.
