Pipex offers free broadband – at a cost

Get free broadband but pay for call package

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Pipex is offering new customers six months worth of free broadband.

The offer which is open until the end of June, will give those signing up free connection, free anti-virus and firewall protection and connection speeds of 8Mbits/sec.

However, the free broadband comes at a price. Those who wish to qualify must not only sign an 18-month contract but also sign up to Pipex’s Anytime calls package, which costs £12.50 per month plus a BT line rental charge. However, this price then rises to £19 after the six months is up.

Users using the “free broadband” will also be capped at a 2GB per month download limit.
