Libra is your personal audio and video management software, enabling you to create a library organise your books, audio CDs, movies and video games.

If you have an extensive collection it’s easy to get your data in to Libra. If you have a webcam, you can turn this in to a barcode scanner and simply scan in your audio CDs, books and DVDs. Libra will auto-retrieve the information automatically, populating your library with information about the product, including the artwork you’ll need to visually represent the product in your catalogue. If you do not have a webcam, you could always purchase a cheap basic barcode scanner.

One of the better parts of Libra is the ultra-fast search engine. You can quickly find groups of products based on specific information. You could enter something such as “show me kids books not on loan” and you’ll be presented with all your current books that you’ve not lent out to your friends.

Your audio and video library can contain information about who has borrowed books, videos and audio CDs from your catalogue. It always happens. Friends come around to your place and see your extensive DVD collection and ask if they can borrow a couple of DVDs. In many circumstances you’ll never see these DVDs again, but Libra enables you to store information about who has borrowed from your collection.

If your library becomes extensive, you can always print out a reference list or even upload your library information to your homepage which you can share with friends and family and, of course, let them know what audio/video products have been borrowed from your collection.
