In Windows Vista, some settings are optimised for stability and compatibility
rather than performance. It’s therefore possible to tailor these options to take
advantage of your PC’s unique specification.
Ordinarily, though, this involves an expert’s touch, whether it’s editing the
Registry or configuring another part of your system.
But TweakVI is a tool that brings together many of these hidden settings in a
user-friendly package. It comes in free and paid-for versions, and offers
hundreds of tweaks.
In this Workshop, we’ll look at the free version and highlight some great
tweaks to try. Many require a PC restart, so do so once you’ve worked through
the tutorial.
