How to prevent others duplicating pictures you have uploaded to the web

Q I have taken photos of weddings and parties and uploaded them to my website. Can I stop people from copying them?

A There are several measures you can take. The simplest is to make sure that the images on the website are reduced in size. An image that looks acceptable on a screen will look bad when printed.

The next option is to add a watermark to the photos. This is a mark of your ownership that does not obscure the image. You can do this by hand but the easiest option is to use software. A good example is called Picture Shark.
