VolumeTouch is a simple but effective utility that provides control over the volume of a computer using keyboard shortcuts and the mouse wheel. Even though many keyboards are now supplied with dedicated volume keys, VolumeTouch is very fast as well as using the mouse.

Installation is simple and will start VolumeTouch automatically. To adjust the volume of the computer, hold down the Shift and Ctrl buttons and either use the up and down arrows, or the mouse scrollwheel.

The keyboard combination can be changed to Shift and Alt, or Ctrl and Alt. This is a good idea because the default keyboard shortcut of Shift and Ctrl is used by the Windows Language bar for switching between different keyboard layouts and languages. If the mouse does not have a scroll wheel, vertical or horizontal movement of the mouse can be used instead.

VolumeTouch has an icon in the Notification Area that shows the current volume level. This is also used to access the various settings, along with shortcuts to the Windows Volume Control and Audio Properties windows.
