Lenovo has unveiled a range of notebooks specifically for small and
medium-sized enterprises.
The new SL series of ThinkPads also adds a range of software and services
designed to help make life easier for smaller businesses.
The first three notebooks in the range, the SL300, SL400 and SL500, feature
built-in high speed mobile broadband connectivity and an optional Blu-ray
player, and come in a black glossy cover.
Lenovo has included software that helps with everything from data recovery to
simplifying internet connections, plus a new optional service package featuring
online data backup and on-site warranty repair.
The new notebooks also give users the option of signing up to Lenovo's
ThinkPlus Secure Business programme.
The programme offers an on-site next-day business warranty upgrade, as well
as ThinkPad protection which provides repairs or replacement in the event of
liquid spills, drops or electrical surges.
Online data backup to a secure off-site storage site is also provided.
ThinkPlus Secure Business is available for one or three years.
Lenovo's Care Tools are also included which guide users through common
connectivity, security and backup issues.
The initial trio of ThinkPad SL series notebooks are expected to start at
around £650 excluding VAT and are available immediately through Lenovo Business
Partners and directly from Lenovo's site.
Dell launched a similar platform with its
Vostro
range almost a year ago.
