Visual IT Tube Pro

Find your way around London with this street, Underground and rail map for handhelds.

If you're constantly peering in an A to Z to find your way around London, Visual IT's Tube Pro may be just what you need.

Not only does it provide an electronic version of a central London street map, it gives you London Underground and rail maps.

The software runs on Palm-based handhelds. Although you'll need the higher resolution colour screen of a new Palm Tungsten T or a Sony Clie to make best use of it, it works well enough on lower resolution, colour or monochrome models too.

It does take a while to load a map though, and that's something the faster Tungsten T helps with. Once a map is loaded, it just as quick to use on an older Palm as a new one.

The street and rail maps both have a 'find' function, but it's up to you to figure out how to get from one place to another.

The maps are obviously larger than the screen but they can be dragged around with the stylus.

The Underground map can plan trips between any two stations and display the route as a list of stations or on the map itself.
