Listen to internet radio on a music player

Anthony Dhanendran, Computeract!ve 24 Nov 2005

Podcasts are DIY internet radio programmes. Download them automatically with this program, and listen to them on your iPod or other portable music player.

More and more people are getting into podcasting and it's becoming known as a kind of citizens' radio. It gives ordinary people the opportunity to produce their own radio shows, on whatever topic they wish, and offer them up to the listening masses over the internet.

Juice (formally known as iPodder) makes it easy to pick up podcasts from websites automatically. Simply install it and select the sites in which you are interested, and Juice will pick up new files from those sites as soon as they appear, as often as you tell it to.

Once you have the podcasts on your computer you can listen to them there and then or copy them to your portable audio player and listen to them later.

As podcasts tend to be large files, a broadband connection is essential for listening.

Visit the Juice for the Mac and Linux versions.
