Recover accidently deleted files
Whether an honest mistake or the result of malicious viruses, losing files can be a traumatic experience.
FreeUndelete can retrieve files because the information contained within them is not destroyed with the file is deleted. Instead all references to the file are removed from the index on the hard disk. If the space on the disk is not reused, the files can be restored.
The software can restore files from disks formatted with NTFS, FAT32 and FAT16 covering all versions of Windows, although FreeUndelete can only be installed on computers running Windows 2000 and XP.
It is best to install the software before a file is lost to avoid the risk of overwriting the information with FreeUndelete.
It is very simple to use FreeUndelete. Select the drive that containing the deleted files and click on the Scan button. The software will display a list of all the files it has foud that can be restored by clicking the Undelete button.
FreeUndelete does not work with Windows 98 or ME.
