The Battlefield series of games has proved very popular and the upcoming new release is set in the future, 2142 to be precise.

Earth is slipping into a new Ice Age and there is not enough food to go around. Two military superpowers, the European Union and the Pan Asian Coalition are pitted against each other.

Weaponry ranges from assault rifles to futuristic cloaking devices to hide from opposing forces. Fighting is not limited to being a humble foot soldier as it possible to take control of tanks and aircraft.

The download is a whopping 1.08GB so it is not suitable for dial up users. Even so it does not include the latest version of DirectX so you must make sure that you have version 9.
