Headless teddy wins weirdest USB drive

Gadget blog shows weird and wonderful designs

Iain Thomson, vnunet.com 23 Jan 2007

A USB drive in a headless teddy bear has won this year's Weirdest USB Drive competition organised by gizmo blog Foster Gadgets

Among the contenders were drives designed as bowling balls, mince pies and tree branches. But the winner was a headless teddy bear that appears to head butt the USB port.

"You just rip the head off and plug it in!" said the blog. "It's designed by Sergio de Ana and it's quite safe to store data in it as long as you keep its head on!"

The drive mimics last year's winner, the Barbie drive, and is based on a concept developed by the makers of Garfield dolls for car radiators in the 1990s.
