GNU Solfege: Music Trainer

Train your ears to recognise scales and musical intervals

Tim Smith, Computeract!ve 06 Mar 2007

Perfect pitch, the ability to identify notes simply by listening to them, is something of a holy grail for musicians.

Solfege is a useful tool for learning to identify different chords, scales and intervals between notes.

The interface is somewhat basic but functional. The different tests are organised into menus, with a separate section for tests.

The sections include identifying intervals, rhythms and scales.

A comprehensive help section includes information on the musical theory behind the tests so it is a complete learning tool.

This software is also available for Linux.
