Ebay introduces video selling

Ebay users in the UK will be able to add videos of the products they are auctioning.

The auction site has teamed up with video widget company Vzaar so that short videos of up to two minutes in length of items can be uploaded to the a seller's listing at no extra charge.

Sellers can film their items using a digital camera, mobile phone or video camera. Vzaar supports most formats including AVI, MP4, 3GP, MPEG1 and MPEG2.

When sellers are ready to upload them onto the site they must log into Vzaar using their Ebay account details. This will enable Vzaar to access the seller’s listings and upload the video. However, the company assures users that it will be unable to see passwords, credit card details, sales information or bidding activity.

People don't have to worry if their video goes over two minutes as they are automatically trimmed by Vzaar.

Users can upload a total of 1GB of videos per month. This should allow over 100 videos taken on a mobile phone and 20 to 50 videos taken on a normal camera.
