Review: Benq FP222WH monitor

No messing about, this is a good screen

The Benq FP222WH is what you might call a no-nonsense monitor.

It has a plain silver bezel, with a blank front – there are no buttons or controls on the front panel, only a discreet logo at the bottom-left corner, and a power indicator.

But that belies a clever and impressive monitor – it has both DVI and VGA inputs for connecting a computer, but it also has an HDMI socket for connecting a high-definition DVD player or games console. Picture quality is very good, with sharp graphics and text, and bright, vibrant colours.

The screen is controlled using a set of recessed buttons along the left-hand edge of the screen, and the menu system is not only easy to use, it's easy on the eye as well. It also has a couple of quick setting modes if you want to easily switch from PC work to watching a DVD film.

At its RRP, the FP222W is not cheap, but it can be picked up for as little as £190 online, which makes it an absolute bargain.
