Workshop: Change the size of your windows

Use Sizer to automatically place program windows anywhere on screen, and and make them any size

Scott Colvey, Computeract!ve 15 Jan 2008

Large, high-resolution monitors are now common and it makes sense to make good use of all that space.

When applications are launched they have a tendency to display in full-screen mode. This can not only lead to a large amount of wasted screen space, and can also mean that other windows and programs are hidden.

Using a free program called Sizer, though, it is possible to precisely control the size and position of any window on the PCís screen. This means that programs can be intelligently arranged to avoid unnecessary overlapping and to make the most of the available desktop area.

The program can also be very handy when designing websites as it is easy to check how pages will look when viewed at different resolutions.
