PC help: Explorer menu bar in Vista

Make you XP options available in Vista's Explorer

Scott Colvey, Computeract!ve 14 Feb 2008

Anyone switching from Windows XP to Vista will notice that the menu bar that used to appear at the top of Windows Explorer windows is no longer present.

While the replacement Command bar provides access to several frequently used file and folder operations, there are still some that are missing.

The menu bar can be temporarily made visible by pressing the Alt key on the keyboard, but for some people this is not enough.

To permanently restore the menu bar and gain easy access to these missing options, click the Organise button and then click Layout followed by Menu Bar.
