Move files to the correct folder quickly and easily with the help of this free Windows Sidebar gadget

The Magic Folder gadget for Vista is one of those refreshingly simple ideas that you can’t believe isn’t already a key part of Windows. Drag files onto the large folder icon and you’ll be prompted to choose one of six folders to copy them to: Documents, Downloads, Favorites, Pictures, Music and Videos.

You can change these folders, add new folders or even switch on a feature that will automatically move files to particular folders based on their type. A number of file types are already set up by default, but you can customise these to your personal requirements and add new ones too. Here’s how to download and use it.
