There's a huge amount of technology on show at CES, some of it good, some of it bad. We've spent the last three days trying to track down the best of the best at CES 2012. So, what did we pick?
We wrote about Ford's new technology-packed Focus car when it was announced earlier in the year, but at this year's IFA show in Berlin we had a chance to actually test it - by driving it straight at a wall.
We've seen quite a few technology-packed cars of late, but often this involves clever computer kit designed primarily for entertainment or connecting up other gadgets so they can be used while you drive.
At the Gadget Show Live, though, we caught up with Volkswagen's Polo BlueMotion - a car packed with technology designed simply to cut your fuel use.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post about the danger of losing small USB keys. Well today a press release arrived about an even smaller USB key that only weighs 2g and is barely bigger than the USB plug. In fairness to Verbatim the issue of loss isn't quite as serious with this key because it's designed to be left plugged in most of the time rather than carried around.
Microsoft and car maker Daimler have put together an app for the Windows Phone handset range that allows users to control the Daimler electric car.
The app, demonstrated in our video above, can show local maps overlaid with how far the car can travel based on how fully charged the battery is.
Note that the video is in German - the company's representative Frank Fischer was demonstrating it at the Cebit trade show in Hannover yesterday.
