Whether you like the Office Ribbon or not, customising the Ribbon makes Word better
The introduction of the Ribbon in Office 2007 certainly split opinion very sharply, not least because there was no option to go back the the old Toolbars and Task Panes of Office 2010. More often than not, I found myself in a minority because I rather like it. Well Office 2010 has stayed faithful to the Ribbon but introduces one important ability. You can now edit the Ribbon, or at least create your own groups.
Click on the File button at the top left of the Office window and then on Options. Click on the Customize Ribbon.
The right hand column displays all of the Ribbon tabs that are enabled (this might be a good time to deselect any that you never use) and the left hand column shows all of the available commands.
Click on the name of the tab you want the new group to appear in. Click on the new group and then on the Renam button. Give it a name, and an symbol if you think that will help make it more obvious. Click on OK.
Now drag and drop commands from the right hand column into the new group.
Click on OK when you are happy with the changes and the new group will appear in the Ribbon.

Office 2010
You say there is no option to go back from 2007 to 2010 My friend H.G.Wells completly disagrees. Me, I've scrubbed 2010 and returned to something I can customise better & without cute colours

Microsoft Office ribbon
Excellent news to be able to customize - keep all that you usually use in one group (just like, ahem, you could do with Lotus 123!)
