Wikipedia's lamest edit wars

Was the Death Star 120km or 160km in diameter?

There's something a little irritating about the wave of info-graphics that seems to be washing over the internet at the moment, but this one is rather good.

It's a colourful collection of the worst of Wikipedia, in the form of the 'lamest edit wars' to be found on the site. An edit war, for those who don't know, is what happens when two or more editors of the free encyclopedia vehemently disagree on an aspect of a topic.

Wikipedia's lamest edit wars

Usually it's something quite trivial to the rest of the world but important to that particular topic. At the top of the list are whether aluminium should be spelt 'aluminum', and whether dates in the life of Jesus should be listed in BC or AD.

Then there are the very silly ones such as the diameter of the Death Star from the Star Wars films.

My favourite war that's not listed is the dozens-of-pages-long discussion over the spelling of tennis player Novak Djokovic's name.

The chart was made by David Mccandless and is found on his informationisbeautiful site. I came across it in this Metafilter discussion of Wikipedia editing practices.
