So small there's not even a loop for a keyring
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post about the danger of losing small USB keys. Well today a press release arrived about an even smaller USB key that only weighs 2g and is barely bigger than the USB plug. In fairness to Verbatim the issue of loss isn't quite as serious with this key because it's designed to be left plugged in most of the time rather than carried around.
Their idea is that it is ideal for car radio systems that include a USB socket for adding extra music. I thought I was doing fairly well with a stereo that plays MP3s off a CDROM but 8 GB should last for even the longest journey.
There's no mention of whether or not this USB memory key is fast enough for the ReadyBoost feature in Windows Vista and 7. That might make a nice extra for a netbook.
