Drobo competition gives away lots of storage
Ordinarily, we're not in the business of plugging other people's competitions, but this one's quite interesting.
Data Robotics, maker of the Drobo storage device, is giving away 100 of them to one winner who can demonstrate how they'd make use of them in the best or most creative way.
Although they're expensive, they're clever devices, replacing the uncertainty and hassle of Raid systems with a simple plug-and-play method of installind and replacing disks. You do need to add your own disks, but that also means you can customise it according to how much storage you need.
We're big fans of the original model (click here to read our review) and we have a review of the new Drobo FS coming soon.
Meanwhile, if you want to win yourself a warehouse-load of the devices, or even one, you need to make a presentation of any kind (essay, video and so on) and upload it to the internet (your website, Facebook, Youtube or somewhere else), then submit it on the competition page.
After entries close at the end of May, voting will begin, and eventually the winner will get the full set of Drobos and 10 runners-up will get one device each.
