Virgin Media's little magic box of TV tricks is a real winner
TiVO tee e e e vo. TiVo's come and me wan' go home.
Yes I do because I am having so much fun playing with the TiVo lent to me by Virgin Media. I am completely smitten. It's not surprising the company is so proud of its flagship TiVo TV service
It's easy to master; although I am sure there are one or two things that I haven't found yet. I have decided to find things by trial and error but it's not easy to go wrong with this magic box of TV tricks.
Ok it's not perfect, but when is anything?
So it won't alert me to a programme I want to watch but although this useful part of Virgin's V+ box is not included with the TiVo, it really doesn't matter. I can record up to three shows at a time.
It's also getting a pretty good idea of what I like to watch. Being addicted to crime programmes, documentaries, series and plays, it is actually dark days for me. The BBC has canned Waking the Dead, and I have seen just about every episode of Taggart.
To add to my misery, the US crime series Law and Order and Law and Order Criminal Intent are no more plus it looks like Law and Order Special Victims Unit may lose its star players in the next series. So I need to get my fix somehow.
Luckily for me there is Luther, but that is never going to be enough for me. However the TiVo has found other crime shows that I have never heard of and may like and recorded them for me. So tonight I am going to curl up on the sofa, and give one or two a viewing. Hopefully there's been a murrrrrrrrrrrrder or two in store for me among them.

Sky will better this!
Won't be long before Sky gets in on the act - and what about Virgin's abysmal HD content?
