Don't want to type and use a trackpad? Now you can get fingerprints all over your laptop screen
Another slimline laptop was vying for attention at Computex 2012, with the Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch the latest in a deluge of Ultrabooks.
As the name suggests, this is a touchscreen laptop. Until recently this might have been an oddity, but a number of companies have shown off Ultrabook laptops with touchscreens. This is in response to the Metro interface in Windows 8, which has been designed for Touchscreen devices - particularly tablets.
The toucscreen wasn't terribly responsive, especially when we used the Desktop mode of Windows 8. It worked far better in the Metro interface, where it was slick and responsive.
Samsung wasn't revealing specifications at the show, but we managed to sneak a look at the specs page. The model on display was running an Intel Core i5 1.7Ghz processor with 4GB of memory and a 120 GB SSD.
Build quality was what we've come to expect from Samsung - a sleek design with pleasing lines and good finish. Rather unsurprisingly, Samsung has opted for the default brushed aluminium finish that is now ubiquitous on more expensive laptops.
Our requests for potential release dates, pricing and other specific details were answered with a shrug. Once Microsoft confirms a date for Windows 8 we would expect manufacturers like Samsung to announce what will be available and when.
