Extract the files from the winmail.dat files sent by Outlook
Extract attachments from winmail.dat files
One problem with Microsoft Outlook is that if an RTF or HTML email is sent with attachments to someone who isn't using Outlook, all the attachments get bundled into a single file called winmail.dat. This can be very frustrating and resending the message won't help.
Win Mail Decoder Pro can extract both the formatted email message and the attachments from a winmail.dat file.
There is no installation. Simply extract the download file into a folder and run the WinMailDecoderApp.exe file. Select the winmail.dat file and select a folder for the extracted files.
One minor annoyance is that the folder select dialogue window doesn't have a button to create a new folder. If you add a folder name in the top text box it will offer to create it, but a more intuative method would be much better.
Once that has been done it is as simple as clicking on the Process button to extract the files.
