Track your family history with Gramps

Gramps is a family tree program for Linux that can hold its own against similar paid-for Windows products.

It is compatible with the GEDCOM file format so it can import information from other software but it has its own format for day-to-day use.

The interface is easy to use although the best place to enter information about individuals is not the first view that appears when the program starts.

It can handle all kinds of information about individuals such as significant events and associations with other individuals. This means that individuals' godparents or the clergy who baptised them can be added.

This version is specifically for the Mandriva distribution of Linux. For other versions see this page.

There is a Windows version but it is not stable; it did not work on our test computer.
