Useful utility when recording music
Make short work of splitting audio files
Ripping CDs onto a computer is simple with Windows Media Player or CDEX as these automatically save separate tracks.
Recording from tape or vinyl record often ends up as one huge audio file with the prospect of spending a lot of time splitting it up. Waveknife is a simple utility for automating this process.
All the options are visible so there are no menus to contend with. There are two sliders for setting how sensitive Waveknife is to breaks in the music, one for volume and the other for length.
The count button performs a 'dry run' of the split process without making any changes. The Split button makes the changes. The original file is not affected in any way and the new files can be created in a separate folder.
