Convert sound files between several formats

dbpoweramp

Described as the Swiss Army knife of audio, dBpowerAMP Music Converter or dMC is a simple-to-use tool that will convert between all kinds of audio file formats.

It comes installed with converters for several common types of file, but the website includes links to installers for several other formats as well, making dMC expandable to fit the required usage.

It can also quickly rip music from audio CDs as well as normalise the volume across a bunch of tracks, and record from devices plugged into the PC's line-in port, using a plugin.
