Edit a variety of programming languages
Edit code quickly with Komodo Edit
Although it is possible to write most modern programming languages in a plain text editor such as Notepad, doing so sacrifices many useful aids.
Komodo Edit can be used with HTML, Javascript, php and a host of other languages.
Installation is simple, when the program starts for the first time it has to preload the information used in the autocomplete feature.
The find-and-replace utility has been improved in this latest version of Komodo Edit and the trigger macro means you can enter code snippets using abbreviations, a little like Autocomplete in Microsoft Word.
Usual coding aids such as colour coding and syntax checking are also present. The checking even works in multi-language files, such as Javascript or CSS embedded in an HTML file.
There is also a preview shortcut for working with HTML files.
This new version can have more than one window open, which is useful if tabs are not your preferred way of working.
Tabstops have also been improved. It can now use a different background colour to mark out different languages in the same file. For example, it is very common to have Javascript and CSS in an HTML file.
