Take better screenshots with Bug Shooting
One of the most effective ways to help software publishers to fix problems is to take a screenshot of what went wrong.
Bug Shooting has been written specifically for this task but is also very useful when taking screenshots for other reasons.
Installation is simple and adds an icon of a ladybird in the Notification Area. This gives access to the different functions of the program.
Bug Shooting can capture the entire screen as three different images. There is an image for each of the monitors connected to the computer and one for the active window at the time of the screen shoot.
It is also possible to capture a specific area of the screen. There are guidelines and information about the position of the cursor, so it is possible to be very accurate. The capture can also be delayed, which is useful for capturing menus that disappear if the mouse is moved.
Once a screen capture has been made it is opened in the Bug Shooting editing window. This has some basic editing tools, including boxes and arrows for drawing attention to areas of the image.
Also added is a screen magnifier. This can be useful for checking the exact location of images on screen.
