Kaspersky Internet Security 2011

Major revision to the popular security suite

Stay safe online with Kaspersky Internet Security

Kaspersky Internet Security is the latest in the line of software packages offering full protection in one place.

The antivirus component checks all emails as they arrive on the computer with special plug ins for Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Internet traffic is also checked and malicious software prevented from running on the computer.

The firewall stops anyone from accessing your computer from the internet whether that is to steal personal information or automated software that is running without permission. It will check with the user when the computer is connected to a network (internet or home for example) to set the correct security level.

Dial up users are protected from premium rate number diallers that attempt to change the telephone number used to connect to the internet.

Personal information is kept safe as Kaspersky prevents confidential material from being stolen. Spam is also blocked to help save time.

Note the above review was for the older 2010 edition. The latest 2011 edition ships with a brand new user-interface, better parental controls, a "sandbox" for testing applications so the results do not affect your computer, plus much more.

hi

one of the best except that sometimes windows security fails to detect it's activity performance and announces it to be off which I don't know if it's true

Version 2009

This review is now out of date since th intro of major revision of KIS 2009 a few weeks ago. A lot of issues have been ironed out. I have used many security softwares but this one uses the least memory. I have a low-spec laptop as one of my PCs and KIS 2009 is really unnoticeable. Settings need a bit of tweking to avoid over-aggressive defauts, even some falso positives, but otherwise highly secure and easy to use, better than ESET- NOD 32, McAfee, Avira, AVG, Avast, PC Tools.....

Works great with Window 7

This is one of the few antivirus/security suite that works good with Window 7 RC1. I've been using it for a month now and Its been great. Very low on resource usage. Scans are fast. Suite has all the bases covered for protection. I surf some bbaaaaaaadd websites sometimes with Kaspersky in tow and I've yet to pick up any bbaaaadd junk. I've used PrevX 3.0 Scan and two other maleware scanners to double check and they all say I'm clean. Only flaw I have found is that it blocks some links in Websites, which is probably a good thing most of the time. It updates and runs scans on what ever schedule you want to set up, instead of doing daily scans and updates automatically with out you having no say, like AVG,Avira,, etc etc.. One of the Best I've ever found. Also works great with Vista and XP.

kaspersky liecence key renewal

i have version 7 with the free 2009 update for a year and now needing to renew my liecense to keep-up with the latest up-dates. However when one went to the pgae to renew my liesence YOU NEED TO UP-DATE TO THE LATEST VERSION!!!!!. This you will not be surprise to know will cost you around £33!! There is no option to just renew your liesence as far as i could see. however kaspersky is a good buy but i just think that what you have just read is A CON!!. Iam sending a complaint to customer service and will report back what they say (if they reply!). be warned!!!!

Kapersky 2009 - renewal costs

They recently invited me to renew this for £29.99 but my local dealer sold me a new CD for £20 and they're even cheaper online. Kapersky are not alone in this practice - I wrote to PC Tools asking if this was any way of getting customer confidence but this question was ignored.

kaspersky Internet Security 2011

I don't know what the problems are with KIS. If you have your key and it is valid and you have time left on it then you will be able to update without any problems and for free as I have done so. If you are having problems then contact Kaspersky and they will respond very quickly with the solution as I have done so previously. I have found then the best to deal with which is why I use and tell others to do so

why i like Kaspersky

Kaspersky is the only firewall not penetrated by GRC's leaktest. Go to Gibson research centre and download his Leaktest. It tests your firewall for leaks. I've tried all the firewalls, and kaspersky is the only one that stops leaktest. Try it for your self. And no. I don't work for kaspersky George

Kaspersky 2011

I was using Kaspersky Version 7. I have just bought a new PC with Windows 7 home premium on,needless to says my version of Kaspersky did not work with Windows 7.I only had 39 days left on my version but Kaspersky upgraded me to 2011 at no charge and gave me a new 12 month deal for free.Full marks to Kaspersky

Leaktest

Has G Hunt tried Zone Alarm firewall. The one commended by Steve Gibson, and if he is sitting behind a Nat router it should not reach his software firewall. However, have an online account at Barclays, and you get Kaspersky free anyway.
