ViStart beta 6

Give the Windows XP Start Menu the Vista look

Change the XP Start Menu to look like Vista

It seems that every time a new version of Windows appears there are lots of utilities produced that give the old versions the new look.

ViStart is a good example that makes the Windows XP Start Menu look just like that of Vista.

The good news is that it is not a purely cosmetic utility. The search feature of the Vista Start Menu is added and works for finding software installed on the computer.

The cosmetics are also very good and the ViStart menu also has the transparent effects of the Vista menu.

If you want to give Windows XP a fresh new look, this a good way to do so.

Note that this product is still in (almost continuous) beta.

ViStart

I downloaded this the other day and i think that it is brill! I was slightly worried because i wanted to have control over when i can have it on and off! But guess what you can! All you do is download the ZIP Folder and then extract all files, where ever you extracted the files to, select ViStart and it will do all itself! To go back to default right click on the ViStart icon in the taskbar (bottom right) and click exit. I reccomend it in the screen shot is exactally what you get!

Best Vista Startmenu for XP

Its very good app and give perfect Vista look when used along with "VistaVG Ultimate" theme. I'm enjoying Vista look in my XP. Thanks to Lee for making ViStart and thanks to Vishal Gupta (an MS MVP) for creating the best Vista theme for XP ever. If you don't know about VistaVG theme, then you can get it from here: http://www.askvg.com/vistavg-ultimate-theme-for-windows-xp/ Thanks for sharing this cool app. :)

Me, too!

I haven't tried Windows 7 and I love the WinXP currently installed in my pc. And like others do, I also love my XP getting a new attire (Vista or 7 looks) and, as a matter of fact, I've installed the Seven Remix XP and, just lately, the ViStart. Yes, guys, we love the app, don't we. But what dismayed me is that Vistart do not include all the start menu items, the All users' start menu and current user's start menu. It do not have an option to customize the start menu like the Vista do. I love the expanding control panel in XP and Vista but I lost it when I used the Vistart. Now I temporarily stopped using ViStart until it fixes those problems. I already e-mailed them to lee-soft but until now I still got no feed back from the author of the program.
