NeoOffice 3.1.1

OpenOffice suite designed specifically for the Mac

Get a free office suite for a Mac

Openoffice is a great office suite, especially as it is available at no cost. But installing it for the Mac requires X11 software. NeoOffice is a different version of Openoffice that will work without extra software.

NeoOffice includes support for Word 2007 files and can also use Excel macros with the Calc spreadsheet software. The menus are all in the Aqua style of Mac OSX.

Other Mac-friendly features include the use of Mac fonts, rather than those of Openoffice, and integration with Finder and Mail.

This download is for the Intel version. A PowerPC version is also available.

Note that this is based on OpenOffice 3.01 but with many Mac-specific features such as Mac OS X Leopard-based grammar checking and more.
