Read blogs and news on the move with RSS Sync
Most blogs use a technology called RSS to make it easy for people to read the latest entries. RSS Sync allows you to download these blogs onto a Pocket PC with Activesync so they can be read later on.
Installation is simple and RSS Sync appears in the Activesync window, rather than needing to run as a separate application.
As feeds are downloaded via Activesync the software does not run up any data charges. There are links to read the original posts and this will access the internet by whatever means the Pocket PC is set up to use.
Feeds can be syncronised manually or to a fixed schedule. This can be either daily or hourly.
RSS Sync does report how much memory it is using on the Pocket PC, a useful touch to make sure that the device does not run short on memory.
Sadly there is no way of organising feeds into folders but this is only a problem with very large collections of feeds.
You can download the latest news and reviews from Computeractive from our very own RSS feed.
