Import emails from other email accounts into Google GMail
Transfer all your old emails to a Googlemail account
Googlemail is a great email service but there is the problem of what to do with emails from previous accounts. Mark Lyon's GMail Loader will foward all of the emails to the new account so they can be included in the tagging and search offered by Googlemail.
This download is the Windows version with a graphical interface, there is also a separate version that will work with Linux and Mac.
GMail Loader works with the files used by email clients to find and send the emails and is currently compatible with the following email software: Netscape, Mozilla, Thunderbird and Qmail. There are plans to add compatibility for Outlook PST files and IMAP.
Emails are forwarded to the Googlemail account at the rate of one every 2 seconds. This may take some time for email accounts with a large number of emails but it reduces the strain on the email servers. Full instructions can be found on the GMail Loader website.
