Anyone wanting to get the very best image quality from their digital camera will have noticed that even the highest quality images are compressed.

Most cameras offer the option to save the image as a 'Raw' file but not all image-editing software can open these files.

Raw Therapee can open pictures from a good sized list of supported cameras and then save them as Jpg, Png or Tif.

It is not just a simple conversion program as there are plenty of editing options to compensate for any problems such as lens distorition.
