A powerful variant of Openoffice
Go-oo offers some useful extras over the normal Openoffice
As Openoffice is open source, anyone can take the program and modify it to suit their needs. Go-oo is one such modification that anyone working with Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Works will find very useful.
It can open documents saved in the new Office 2007 file format, called OpenXML, and says it has better support for VBA macros. There are 3D transitions for the Presentation software and it can import SVG graphics.
Go-oo is also available for Linux. There is a Universal Linux version, as well as the source code on the Go-oo download page. It has also been modified to start faster than Openoffice.
One disappointment was that it cannot be installed without first uninstalling the equivalent version of Openoffice from the computer. Hopefully someone will make Go-oo into a Portable App, which would solve the problem.

Go-(GoGet)-oo office suite
To think of all the money I've spent on Microsoft Office over the years and now this is available for free. It is everything I've been looking for. It has the functions of Office that 99% of us want, it's free and most of all it is pleasing to the eye. That may sound trivial but we do have a tendency to pick software fo it's looks as well as it's function.
