Help others to offer you support

Send for help with Panic Button

This is a simple utility, but one for friends and family who offer technical support.

Clicking on the Panic button icon in the Notification Area takes a screenshot and creates an email into which you can write a description of the problem.

It uses its own software to send the email so it is not dependant on other settings.

The disadvantage of this is that the server settings must be entered manually. These can all be found in whatever email client is being used but may be a little off putting for beginners. Then again, if someone has agreed to receive the emails, they may well be happy to do it for you.

All it can do is to take a screen shot rather than gather any extra information about the computer at the time of the problem but it is good starting point.

Despite this, Panic Button is a great way to get the right information to someone when asking for help.
