A drawing program ideal for children
Get children creating artwork on a computer with Tux Paint
Getting children to do something on a computer other than play games can be a hard task, but Tuxpaint has proved an instant hit with both adults and pre-school children.
It's a painting program that has tools that make it fun and easy to use. At the bottom of the screen there are descriptions of every tool and there are plenty of sound effects to keep children interested.
You can create pictures starting from a blank canvas or have several pictures ready for colouring in. The Stamps pack includes lots of pictures to add to pictures giving instant results. There are lots of effects for messing around with images
There is even a gallery online if you want to share your artwork – another great way to enthuse children.
Click on the Download button to find the Download page on the Tux Paint website to select the correct download for your version of Linux. An easier option might be to search for Tux Paint in the Software Installer (Add Remove in Ubuntu) of your version of Linux as this will download and install the Tux Paint automatically.
Click here for the Windows version.
