Don't waste time loading a separate program when someone emails a link to you
Browse web pages from within Thunderbird with Thunderbrowse
Thunderbrowse is an add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird that allows it to open web links within Thunderbird rather than opening a separate web browser.
The best way to install this is to download the file and then install it into Thunderbird. Once it has finished downloading, click on the Tools menu in Thunderbird and then Add-ons. Click on the Install button, find the downloaded file, click on it once and then click on Open. Click on the Install button and restart Thunderbird to start the installation wizard.
When the wizard starts click on the Next button. Select Browse websites in Thunderbird and click on Next. The next step can assign the middle mouse button (normally the wheel) to open a web link and whether it should open in a new tab or not. There are some other options, click on Next 3 more times and then finish.
The browser tabs appear in the message preview window rather than the main Thunderbird tabs. This seems quite a good idea for keeping down clutter. Tabs also open in the background.
This is a useful addon for Thunderbird.
