Transfer music, photos and videos between your mobile and computer and backup contacts
The Nokia Ovi suite is used to transfer photos, music, video and apps to a mobile phone
It's not just expensive smartphones that can run apps and play music and video. Even the cheaper models can keep you entertained on the move (although some may need a microSD card to get enough space). The Ovi Suite from Nokia is the easiest way to manage media and apps on compatible Nokia phones.
Installation is simple, as is connection to the phone. This can be via a USB cable or via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection is better than we have come to expect from this technology.
It can synchronise with the contacts list on the phone and be used to organise them into groups, which is much easier than trying to do this on a small keypad. The same is true of messages.
Photos and videos are transferred using the same tool. They are organised into folders named by the month such as 2011-1, which makes them easy to find in other programs later on.
The Maps tools is used to copy maps and voice packs to use with the phones GPS app if available. This does not always require a GPS receiver on the phone as some can connect to a separate receiver using Bluetooth. There is no charge for downloading the maps.
Finally the Ovi Suite can be used to find and install apps for the phone.
