This software from Microsoft is ideal for netbooks.
Microsoft's Windows Defender is included with copies of Windows Vista and Windows 7
Windows Defender is included with Windows 7 and Vista, but will also run on Windows XP.
The software is designed to protect aginst spyware and we found it easy to use, with clear menus and options. Unlike a lot of security software, Windows Defender doesn't put much strain on a computer, so it's a good option for netbooks.
This is a 'no thrills' piece of software. It has options to scan, view a history of previous scans and an options menu with some useful functions. Setting up automatic scans is easy enough and there are also options for scanning emails and downloads.
We think Windows Defender is a good piece of software to protect your computer against spyware, which is easy to use and quick to run. Scans are quick and options presented when it detects a problem are easy to understand and resolve. Used in conjunction with an anti-virus tool, it will do a good job of keeping your PC safe on the web.
