Use a simple passcode system to filter out unwanted emails
Remove spam from your email accounts with Comodo Antispam
Spam is a massive problem on the internet and can waste large amounts of time if it gets on your computer. And sometimes it is sneakily attempts to get hold of your personal details. Comodo Antispam is a program to find and remove spam.
Installation is simple but you will need to restart your computer.
Antispam uses a passcode system to confirm that an email address belongs to a real person rather than a spammer. This can be between 3 and 12 characters and is sent in an email either as text or a graphical. It is even possible to set it as a secret password for even greater security.
To avoid annoying long-term friends it can import your email address book to preapprove people. It can also import distribution lists that include safe addresses. It's a shame that there are no examples or links for these lists.
Suspect messages are stored in a quarantine folder so it is a good idea to check this regularly when the software is first set up to catch any safe emails that have been caught by mistake.
Sadly it didn't pick up our account in Windows Live Mail 2011 but it did work with Mozilla Thunderbird.
