Create PDF files from any program using PrimoPDF

The PDF format is a very useful way of sending documents because it is easier to guarantee that they will look the way they are supposed to and reader software is available for all operating systems (such as Sumatra PDF Reader).

PrimoPDF is a capable PDF creator that works with nearly all the software on your computer.

When we attempted to install PrimoPDF, Windows Defender warned us about some unwanted software called Win32/OpenCandy. Our research on the Microsoft website revealed that this is a small program used to suggest other programs to install at the same time.

Open Candy scans the computer to make sure it doesn't suggest software that is already installed. It's not listed as an actual threat so as long as you remember not to install the other software. Registration is requested but not manditory.

PrimoPDF installs as a printer driver so that it can be used with any program that prints. There are no options that need to be selected in the printer window, just click on OK.

This will launch the PrimoPDF window that does have the various options for making different kinds of PDF file. There are four presets covering screen, email and printing. It is possible to add security to a PDF so that it can only be opened and/or edited with a password. This is a good way of controling content rather than sending an Office document, which is very easy to edit.

The PDF is saved to the computer and it can be set to open or email it when it is ready.
